JUNE and JULY 2014

TRIP NOTES
Two airplanes flew in June and one in July, to assist the Phoenix Flying Sams in their Clinic at
Lopez Mateus. Weather was good for both trips but a little on the warm side in Mulege. The clinic at Lopez Mateus on the Pacific side has cooler Pacific breezes that are refreshing in the summer.

CLINIC NOTES
The Clinic in Lopez Mateus is well organized and generally well equipped. All of the rooms are well lit and have ample space. So as not to be too repetitious, there is a site for the Sams that has the patients’ treatment information for both clinics, in June and July--- http://samaritansmovil.blogspot.com.  Please visit this site for a great report on our combined efforts.

DENTAL CLINIC
The dental clinic ran smoothly with our very competent providers and enthusiastic dental assistants. One of the needs for future trips is to organize the dental side to be a little more efficient as far as placement and location of instruments and the operations of the equipment. For this we would like to perhaps come down a week early, or even a few days early, and get things up and running before the October trip.
           
HEARING CLINIC
Wonderfully dedicated Bonnie Rettgers came on this trip and saw many patients.  This service was a first for the Lopez Mateus clinic and Bonnie will be joining us again soon. Several were fitted with hearing aids.  Bonnie’s services are always greatly appreciated.

NOTEWORTHY
Bonnie Bateman DDS joined our team for the June trip and was a great addition. The two Bonnies were picked up in Long Beach for the trip down. Separate nicknames soon followed, all in good fun.
Progress on the Cadeje runway has been slow but we should know more in September.
